IBM | US Open
IBM transformed Madison Square Park into a four-day public fan experience during the US Open, bringing AI out of the lab and into the hands of everyday fans. Located across from IBM’s new One Madison Avenue headquarters, the space blended live sports, interactive technology, and community gathering into an open-air experience for New Yorkers and tennis fans alike.
The activation featured AI-powered table tennis games with real-time commentary, player stats, and interactive challenges powered by IBM data and technology. A second viewing area hosted live screenings of the US Open semifinals and finals, creating a free public watch party atmosphere in the heart of Manhattan. The experience also included live podcast recordings, guest appearances, and fan-driven content throughout the week.
Over four days, the activation welcomed more than 565,000 visitors, generated 1.3 million+ impressions, and helped make AI feel more approachable, social, and interactive through sport and shared experience.
